I always love the fresh start of a new year--new goals, new beginnings. Or simply a clean slate to try new things and continue on from where you left off last year. For me, I always feel a bit more creative after filling orders and busting through holiday sales. This time of year gives me new motivation to try new styles of glass beaded jewelry.
One of the things that inspires me is when the new pantone color of the year is announced. It's always a good indication of a color that will become more prevalent throughout the year including in home decor, fashion, jewelry, clothing, accessories and more.
According to www.pantone.com, Living Coral is "an animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge. It's vibrant, yet mellow and embraces us with warmth and nourishment to provide comfort and buoyancy in our continually shifting environment."
PANTONE 16-1546 Living Coral emits the desired, familiar, and energizing aspects of color found in nature. In its glorious, yet unfortunately more elusive, display beneath the sea, this vivifying and effervescent color mesmerizes the eye and mind. Lying at the center of our naturally vivid and chromatic ecosystem, PANTONE Living Coral is evocative of how coral reefs provide shelter to a diverse kaleidoscope of color.
For 20 years, Pantone’s Color of the Year has influenced product development and purchasing decisions in multiple industries, including fashion, home furnishings, and industrial design, as well as product, packaging, and graphic design.
The Color of the Year selection process requires thoughtful consideration and trend analysis. To arrive at the selection each year, Pantone’s color experts at the Pantone Color Institute comb the world looking for new color influences. This can include the entertainment industry and films in production, traveling art collections and new artists, fashion, all areas of design, popular travel destinations, as well as new lifestyles, playstyles, and socio-economic conditions. Influences may also stem from new technologies, materials, textures, and effects that impact color, relevant social media platforms and even upcoming sporting events that capture worldwide attention.
I love this color...to me it's bright, cheery and noticeable. It's a great glass color that remains vibrant when the glass beads I make by hand cool to room temperature and come out of the kiln. I have three pieces currently listed in my shop that feature the coral color: the coral glass beaded toggle bracelet, a salmon coral beaded tassel necklace, and newest to my collection are interchangeable earrings featuring the coral beads. In the same color family, one of my most popular items of all time are the coral orange beaded teardrop earrings.
If you like to stay in style and keep up with the latest trends, keep an eye out for the coral color and snag some fun coral-colored accessories for your home and your wardrobe. In fact, I'm offering a FREE pair of coral beads with any purchase of my interchangeable earrings! Simply enter CORAL as your discount code upon checking out of my store.
